Rotary club of Bagmati Kathmandu organized Cervical Cancer Screening Test.


Rotary club of Bagmati Kathmandu jointly with Nagarjun Muinicipality and Nepal Cancer Relief society Kathmandu Branch organized one day free Cervical Cancer screening test ( VIA test ) on 12th March 2025 at Nagarjung Municipality ward no 7. Nagarjun Municipality and Rotary club of Bagmati Kathmandu jointly agreed to lunch at least 4 Cervical Cancer Screening test in Nagarjun Municipality within this fiscal year in continuation to lunch the program in each and every ward of the Nagarjun municipality. This is the second program of cervical cancer screening test out of four programs targeted in Nagarjun Municipality. The program was supported by Lions club of Kathmandu Ashoka and was technically supported by 6 member team of Nepal Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation, leaded by its secretary Dr. Kasturi Malla. A total of 126 community women patients being tested. Among them 5 tested women found positive and was given theromoculation to them. Similarely 30 tested women found general infection, 3 tested women found Polyps and 3 tested women found prologs and rest 85 tested women were found normal.

The program was started with a small opening inauguration by Acting Chief of the Nagarjun Municipality Ms. Shushila Adhimari where Dr. Kasturi Malla, a senior gynecologist and secretary of NACCF informed on cervical cancer and its need and importance of screening test to protect the women from cervical cancer disease and so on. Acting chief of Nagarjung Municipality Ms Sushila Adhikari, President of Rotary club of Bagmati Kathmandu Rtn. Manik Ratna Shakya and Chairman of NCRS Kathmandu Branch addressed the program highlighting the need of program. The Program was starterd at 11.45 am and ended at 4.00 pm.
