Rotary club of Bagmati Kathmandu jointly with Nagarjun Muinicipality and Nepal Cancer Relief society Kathmandu Branch organized one day free Cervical Cancer screening test ( VIA test ) on 22nd May 2025 at Sitapaila Health post of Nagarjung Municipality ward no 4. This is 3rd and last Cervical cancer Screening ( VIA ) test in Nagarjun Municipality for this Rota Year 2024-2025. However Rotary club of Bagmati Kathmandu and Nagarjun Municipaityv jointly agreed to lunch at least 4 Cervical Cancer Screening test in Nagarjun Municipality within this fiscal year as they have already done in two wards by mobilizing their own health personnel and the positive cases they found had been referred in this camp for thermoculation treatment.
As in the previous camp, it was also joint effort of difference organizations and so this program was also technically supported by 6 member team of Nepal Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation, leaded by its secretary Dr. Kasturi Malla and also supported by Lions club of Kathmandu Ashoka. A total of 91 community women patients including 2 referred patients being tested. Among them 13 tested women found positive and was given theromoculation to them. Similarly 17 tested women found general infection, and rest of 61 tested women normal.
The result of VIA test shows that this ward no 4 is found little bit more sensitive in cervical cancer than previously tested wand no 3 and ward no 7. So we have advised the concern ward chairman and Health executives of this ward no 4 for more focus and test in this ward as well as follow ups.
The program was started at 11.30 am and ended at 4.00 pm. After the completion of the test program a small concluding program was done, where we had suggested to focus in this ward as mention in above.
