Rotary club of Bagmati Kathmandu celebrates 22nd Charter Day


Rotary Club of Bagmati Kathmandu celebrates its 22nd Charter Day by organizing a special program at Aranya Boutique Hotal on 22nd October 2024 in the presence of District Governor of RI district 3292 Nepal Bhutal Rtn. Rajendra Man Sherchan as chief guest of the program, the council of governors, district committee chairs and presidents of different other clubs. District Governor’s Official club visit and confidential Meeting was also schedule on the same day before charter day function.

The chief Guest of the program Rtn. Rajendra Man Sherchan falicitated all charter members and past presidents by wearing a woolen muffler. Cake cutting jointly by president, charter president and the chief guest in presence of all, as a celebration of charter day was also done in the program.

Rotary club of Bagmati Kathmandu was chartered on 22nd October 2003.with club ID no 63637 under Rotary International district 3290, which is now District 3292 Nepal Bhutal. The club was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Rajdhani and originally had 32 charter members from different classification. Currently there are 48 members with a diverse range of classification.

Since the chartered of the club on 2003 club has been involved in different social works Some of these are establishment of Rotary community crops, establishment of Inner wheel club of Bagmati, Rotaract club of Bagmati, Interact club of Bagmati Holchowk School, organize CAR rally among the rotary clubs of district 3292, organize health camp in the remote areas of the country, provide medical equipment to Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital, Supporting Nepal Cancer Relief Society ( NCRS ) Tumor board, Where renowned Oncologist meets on every month to discuss on cancer problem presented on the meeting, Organize Rotary District Conference in Rota Year 2006-2007 in a grand success with a highest members participation in the conference till that date.

Rotary club of Bagmati sponsored three Rotary clubs namely Rotary club of Durbarmarg Kathmandu, Rotary club of Bhadgaun and Rotary club of Naxal Shakti The club is contributing more thatn $5000.00 each year in The Rotary Foundation. The club is 100% PHF club with significant number of KPHF an PHS members. The club has successfully completed five Global Grant Projects, one ERRRP Project, one District grant Project.

Presently one global grant project of medical equipment handover to Tilganga ophthalmology Institute is in submission process.
