Free Eye Screening & Cataract Surgery Camp | Indrasarobar VDC – Dec 3-7, 2025


We are proud to announce the successful completion of the Free Eye Screening & Cataract Surgery Camp, a powerful joint service initiative of 15 Rotary Clubs, including the Rotary Club of Bagmati Kathmandu, with generous support from the Rotary Clubs of Tasmania and Mr. David Yaxlay, Australia.

RC Hetauda served as the Host Club for this meaningful service project.

From December 3 onward, eye screenings were conducted across five locations of Indrasarobar VDC — Markhu, Sisneri, Kulekhani, Fakhel & Mahadevsthan — examining 329 individuals.

Project Highlights:

  • Identified cataract patients were transported to Shree Panchakamya Secondary School with full logistics and accommodation arranged.
  • OPD checkups were completed on December 5.
  • 59 successful cataract surgeries were performed on December 6.
  • Post-surgery eye opening took place on December 7.

Impact: This impactful project contributes to RI District 3292’s goal of completing 10,000 eye screenings and 1,000 cataract surgeries during Rotary Year 2025–26.
